This is the gritty and sensational true story of Arun Gulab Gawli, a mill worker’s son who grew up in Mumbai’s impoverished Dagdi Chawl, to become an infamous don, politician and chief rival of the most powerful crime boss of the day, Dawood Ibrahim. Daddy realistically charts Mumbai’s true crime history from the 1970s and 1980s until 2012, when Gawli was finally sentenced to life imprisonment.

Plot

In 1982 when Mumbai mills started shutting down many unemployed young men took to the world of crime one of them being Arun Gawli.Gawli started betting gambling in Matka dens on instance of his friends Rama Naik and Babu Reshim but to earn quick money they gang started killing people for extortion where he finds him in the books of a Don Maqsood Bhai.After death of Babu Reshim ,Rama Naik takes over the gang and runs with Gawli whose fondly called as Daddy and develop rivalry with Maqsood.Gawli marries his sweetheart Zubeida who asks him to give world of crime but Gawli takes over the gang after Rama Naik gets killed by rival gang.
