Plot

Takeshi is an assistant director working for a production company. Struggling with his daily work, he feels the distance increasing between what he does now and what he really wants to do. He remembers his grandfather, who was a Butoh dancer, who had once asked him, 'Would you dance in a costume that didn't fit you for the rest of your life? Or would you find a costume that fit you perfectly?' TIG HUG's inspiration came from the life of Kazuo Ohno, the famous Butoh dancer. The reality Takeshi struggles with is what the director herself also suffers with. What comes to save Takeshi throughout the film is the mystery man who is not afraid to ask him the unavoidable questions about the incongruous reality surrounding him.
