A Film About Kids and Music is a project arising from a music class. Conducted by Joan Chamorro, the big band brings together children between 6 and 18 years old, around a classic jazz repertoire with lots of swing, which gained the public’s attention and sold-out some of the most important music auditoriums in Spain.

Plot

This is maybe the most amazing and exciting project I've heard of. Director and film maker Ramon Tort portraits Joan Chamorro and his music school project, the Sant Andreu Jazz Band. The kids are between 6 and 19 years old (the film was made 7 years ago while I write this), so this shows music education at its best. The result? Even international sites like the A.C. Jobim tribute page at list recording of these kids as examples for the best versions ever played. Just search for Sant Andreu Jazz Band or for Joan Chamorro in Youtube, and you'll see.I'm about to document local school projects myself, and this is the best guidance I could find (tho I don't have 9 cameramen and -women like Roman did, I'll still take some of his ideas for my own documentary work).A must see. Breathtaking. Made me cry.
