A look at food security in the Hawaiian islands

Plot

Set in Hawaii, one of the most popular destinations in the world, this film reveals how thousands in Hawaii are malnourished and how the remaining bits of usable land for growing food are being swallowed up by urban sprawl, resort development and experimental genetically modified seed crops for export. Through personal stories we meet the individuals who are working to solve the biggest issue facing this remote island paradise: 'How can Hawaii feed itself?'. These 'seeds of hope,' innovative farmers both large and small, Hawaiian practitioners, educators and everyday citizens are scattered throughout the island chain and growing new ideas that can solve Hawaii's food crisis and inspire a world to nurture the land that feeds us.
