A combination of fantasy and comedy, director Shohei Shiozaki’s debut film is a youthful tale portraying the importance of friendship through the struggles of an immigrant family, while offering a beautiful celebration of Japanese culture.

Plot

A Brazilian immigrant boy in Japan finds a strangely glowing blue Goldfish that turns out to be the spirit of a Chinese Princess who came to Japan long long ago. He and his friend Hanako have to take on the local Mayor and the Yakuza to save the fish and the town in a spectacular magical ending. This film blends the real problems of Brazilian immigrant children in Japan with a fantasy story set in the heart of Japanese Goldfish farming in a heartwarming comedic fantasy.
