Finland in the 50s saw a time where boats from all over the world docked in the harbor city of Kotka. In addition to transporting goods, the sailors brought with them another import: jazz, swing and blues. A tale of music-loving, fearless and passionate young men decide to open Fennia, a jazz bar. Soon Fennia achieves legendary status and the men; the Harbour Brothers, play their music and hold court like emperors.

Plot

The plot takes place in Kotka, a small sub-urban city near Helsinki. Harbour surroundings are filled with this new music brought by foreign workers. After one vodky night young drummer notices to own a jazz restaurant, all savings spent and girlfriend gone away. Some success and tomorrow would be prosperous time with her. In the case of failure days would be jobless and nights spent in the company of the old wheaty Russian.Surprisingly the end is happy unlike in most of the movies done in that genre in finland; liquor and misery aren't the point now. Actors are good, soundtrack fantastic. Some laughs and a nice movie night is guaranteed.
