A genius-yet-introverted orphan, raised by a church priest, is sent to college where he turns out to be a social outcast. Although he is shunned by the majority of the other students, one girl shows him kindness and befriends him. Things take a turn when he falls for her, and she in turn falls for another classmate.

Plot

Vinod (Dhanush) is a brilliant child at an orphanage run by a Catholic priest (Nagesh). When admitted to a top university, Vinod leaves the comfort of the orphanage and lives along in a city for the first time. In college, he is ridiculed for his appearance and manners by all except Divya (Sonia Agarwal), who he eventually falls in love with. Unfortunately, there is competition. And unfortunately for the competition, Vinod is not exactly conventional in dealing with crises.
