Drama, Music

Manousos is the biggest child of a poor and crowded family living in the province. After finishing his term, he decides to work in Athens to help his mother. His friends and acquaintances are detestable, but he will find work as a singer in a nightclub. Soon she knows success and marries Eleni. But her brother wants to spoil their happiness.

Plot

Freshly released from the Greek Army, Manousos--the older son of a multitudinous family--arrives in the bustling city of Athens, in high hopes of finding a better future. However, equipped only with his old bouzouki, and an ardent desire to succeed, the proud self-starter will soon realise that a faceless metropolis is a cruel place for those who dare to dream big. To make matters worse, even when Manousos starts to taste the fruit of his labour and gets married to the beautiful and rich woman, Elena, a harsh fate still seems to stand in the way. Is there hope for the humble and the scorned?
