Sohrab, a provincial young writer, is lost in the desert on the way to Tehran to get a publication license for his book on old Persian poetry, but the trip involves some bizarre events.

Plot

'Iran Is My Land' documents the journey of Sohrab, an itinerant writer, whose latest work, a book of Iranian poetry, requires a permit from Iran's censors in order to be published. Sohrab thus sets off on the road to Tehran in pursuit of this elusive document. As he ventures deeper into nature and immerses himself in his work, he encounters Persian poets from times long past, including the form of Saadi Shirazi, who provide comfort and guidance along his journey of inspiration.
