For three days in June 1990, the famed Paris attic of Emil Cioran (1911-1995) was transformed into a film studio under the supervision of filmmaker Sorin Iliesiu, creating an engrossing portrait of the philosopher and essayist.

Plot

For a large part of Romanian public, it was the first step to discover Emil Cioran. His work, his ideas, his connection with Romania, his past and memories and his voice, face, attitude and perception of reality. So, a memorable film for many Romanians. After decades, the work of Liiceanu - Iliesiu team remains one of noble tries to recuperate the old Romania , the spirit of Generation 27 , the way for understand the roots of normality after the Communist regime fall. So, more than a good documentary. But a seductive perspective about values, a significant cultural personality and about the beginning of hope, with deep roots in the past. Cioran gived by this film is more than an old man with his stories, memories and confessions. >But a kind of voice of reasons for define us. And that, maybe, more than nostalgia, is the most significant thing.
