Plot
You can't make a heart love somebody. This gospel is well known to the young Olenka. Born in a poor family, she has to marry a rich man to escape poverty. Three men fight for her heart, the glum widower Urbenin, the old count Karneyev and the handsome Kamyshev. The choice seems obvious, but who would have known that it all will end in tragedy?
