Mystery, Thriller

An Australian widower living in New Guinea starts a relationship with a woman very similar to his much-beloved wife, but their life together turns out to be far from the imagined romantic ideal.

Plot

Jack lives in the jungle of New Guinea, where his wife Rose gets killed. Two years later in Melbourne he meets an author named Kate who highly resembles Rose. They fall in love and he persuades her to accompany him back to the jungle, but once there Jack is haunted by Rose while he drinks heavily and watches old videos of her. Kate asks the locals about the mystery surrounding Rose, but gets no satisfying answer. Jack starts to make Kate wear Rose's clothes and copy her hairstyle. Kate wants to flee, but Jack has taken her passport. The relationship becomes a life-and-death struggle.
