Inspired by a real-life history comes the feat of a small group, led by their manager, Cesar Faz, that achieved what no other Mexican team in Little League World Series had achieved before. This film recreates the miracle of the small Monterrey sports baseball team, champions of 1957, which were no longer unknown, facing adversity, the climate, the socio-economic differnces and internationally renowned rivals to finish conquering the unimaginable: the White House. Preserved by the Academy Film Archive in 2007.

Plot

I saw a baseball film called The Little Giants in the early 60's as a youngster in El Paso. It was in English. Although the details of the film are sketchy now, I remember clearly that it was a great film and made a favorable impression on me. I played on a Little League championship team a few years after I saw the film and at the end of the season we played an all-star team from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. I have played and coached several youth and adult baseball and softball teams since then, even playing one summer after high school for a baseball team in Mexico and most recently, overseeing a 42-team softball league as commissioner. I would love to get a copy of this film in its English version for my library and posterity.
