Les vacances de Monsieur Hulot

"It's laugh-vacation time!"

Jun 16 1954 Not Rated 1h 54m
Comedy

Monsieur Hulot, Jacques Tati’s endearing clown, takes a holiday at a seaside resort, where his presence provokes one catastrophe after another. Tati’s masterpiece of gentle slapstick is a series of effortlessly well-choreographed sight gags involving dogs, boats, and firecrackers; it was the first entry in the Hulot series and the film that launched its maker to international stardom.

Plot

Monsieur Hulot goes on a holiday to a seaside resort but accidents and misunderstandings follow him wherever he goes. The hotel guests' peace and quiet doesn't last with Hulot around, because although his intentions are good, they always turn catastrophic.
