Drama, Music, Romance

A high living society playboy marries a nightclub singer, and she soon realizes that, though they're genuinely in love, the husband's endless partying completely dominates and is destroying their marriage.

Plot

Based on the 1931 Broadway play, which was inspired by the real-life marriage of singer Libby Holman and tobacco tycoon Smith Reynolds, this is the story of nightclub singer Abby Fane (Carole Lombard), who, unable to tolerate Rodney Deane (Gene Reynolds) her millionaire husband's dissipated existence, walks out on the wastrel. Soap opera reformation, redemption and forgiveness may be in the offing.
